College Description


In September 2022, the proposal entitled “Separation of Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the College of Engineering and Architecture Vis-A-Vis The Establishment of College of Architecture and Design (CA+D) was proposed by Ar. EnP. Jennifer Y. Vibar who was the program chairperson then. This was endorsed through ACADCO RES. NO.10, s. 2022 and was approved by virtue of BOT RES NO. 8(3), s. 2023 with a policy no. BOT-2023-001 thus the establishment of the College of Architecture and Design.


College Goals


The BISCAST College of Architecture and Design aims to provide quality instruction and training in Architecture and Design which are responsive and relevant to the needs and development of the service area in particular and the country in general as well as develop total quality architects, design professionals and technology researchers for industry and society to maximally contribute to sustainable national development.

Programs Offered


The BISCAST College of Architecture and Design offers a Five-Year Course in Bachelor of Science in Architecture, which offers subjects duly mandated under CHED Memorandum No. 16 Series of 2017.

Educational Objectives:

BS-Architecture Graduates are expected to:

  1. Perform standard competencies in accordance with the scope of the global and local practice of architecture;
  2. Show traits of professionalism, a sense of responsibility, equity, and patriotism;
  3. Be receptive to new ideas and knowledge through scientific research;
  4. Direct and focus the thrust of architecture education on the needs and demands of society and its integration into the social, economic, cultural, and environmental aspects of nation-building; and
  5. Instill an understanding of the basic philosophy and fundamental principles of the multi-dimensional aspects of architecture and the direct relationship between man and his environment.

Program Learning Outcomes

BS-Architecture Graduates should be able to:

  1. Keep abreast of the developments in the field of architecture practice;
  2. Effectively communicate orally and in writing using both English and Filipino;
  3. Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams;
  4. Recognize professional, social, and ethical responsibility;
  5. Create architectural solutions by applying knowledge in History, Theory, Planning, Building Technology and Utilities, Structural Concepts and Professional Practice;
  6. Use concepts and principles from specialized fields and allied disciplines in various architectural problems;
  7. Prepare contract documents, technical reports, and other legal documents used in architectural practice adhering to applicable laws, standards, and regulations;
  8. Interpret and apply relevant laws, codes, charters, and standards of architecture and the built environment;
  9. Apply research methods to address architectural problems;
  10. Use various information and communication technology (ICT) media for architectural solutions, presentation, and techniques in design and construction;
  11. Acquisition of entrepreneurial and business acumen relevant to architecture practice;
  12. Become involved in the management of the construction works and building administration; and
  13. Participate in various types of employment, development activities, and public discourses, particularly in response to the needs of the communities one serves.
